Brochure weight calculator

Work out the weight of one brochure — and a whole mailing — from paper weight, size and page count.

This is an estimate for planning. Actual weight varies with paper batch, moisture, ink coverage and binding.

How this works

A brochure is a 4-page cover (front, inside-front, inside-back and back) printed on the cover stock, plus the remaining pages printed on the interior stock. Each physical sheet (leaf) carries two pages, and its paper area equals one finished page.

Weight = leaves × page area (m²) × paper weight (g/m²), summed for the cover and the interior. The page count you enter includes the cover, so the interior is the page count minus four. Enter a quantity to also get the total weight of the whole run.

Common questions

Does the page count include the cover?

Yes. Enter the total page count including the 4-page cover. For example, a 16-page brochure has a 4-page cover plus 12 interior pages.

What if the whole brochure uses one paper stock?

Enter the same grammage in both the cover and interior fields. The calculator then treats every page as the same stock (a self-cover brochure).

How is the total batch weight calculated?

It multiplies the weight of one brochure by the quantity you enter. Leave the quantity blank to see only the per-piece weight.
